ku art faculty to be featured in local art exhibit
pottstown, pa. – free and open to the public, montgomery county community college (mccc) has collaborated with kutztown university art faculty to host a local art experience for the surrounding community, including an exhibition and artist reception. the opening reception event will be held 5-7 p.m., wednesday, sept. 18, at mccc’s north hall gallery, west campus, in pottstown. the gallery will host the artwork through friday, nov. 8.
the collaboration is an opportunity for students, community members and the artists to showcase their work.
“we have been fortunate to enroll many students from montgomery county community college over the years,” dr. daniel haxall, chair of the ku department of art, said in a local interview. “i hope this exhibition leads to further collaboration between our two schools and opens up future opportunities for mccc and ku students alike."
the exhibition features mixed media with pieces ranging from traditional painting and ceramics to time-based media and woodworking. featured artists include: tim betz, michael covello, elaine cunfer, george graf, mark mahosky, kevin mccloskey, carrie nordlund, heather ramsdale, james rose, elizabeth schneider, evan summer and john white.
the gallery is open 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., monday through thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., friday.
